The multiple layers of distant mountain ranges presented in deep blue hues, contrasted with the golden skies. The sky is rich with textured golden and cream tones, depicting the warm glow of natural light. My mood was enhanced by the calm and quiet reflections.

This painting serves as a attempt to capture the majesty and tranquility of both the snow-covered peaks and the contrast between the vibrant greens on the rocky outcrop and the cool blues of the ocean. Harmony and interconnectedness were themes that guided my brush.

Daybreak over Mount Baker

Daybreak reminds me to live life with gratitude. Each day when I rise I breath in deeply thankful for another day. My Eastern horizon is dominated by Mount Baker and the Coastal Mountains which provide me endless inspiration.

Following a stormy week, the skies started to clear and the sea calmed enough for this sailor to head out of the safe harbour for the next destination. As I painted this 24×30 I thought of the old quote:

“Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
