Afua Asare appointed GEPA CEO

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

Afua Asabea Asare has been appointed by President Nana Akufo-Addo to head the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA).

In a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo, it said, “Pursuant to Sections 2 (1) (L) and 9 (2) of the Ghana Export Promotion Act 1969, (N.L.C.D), I am pleased to inform you that the President has appointed you as the Executive Secretary of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority.”

Until her appointment, Afua was the Special Advisor to the Minister for Business Development.

Afua Asabea Asare, a member of the Tentmaker Ghana Advisory Council, brings to her new role a wealth of management, strategic and entrepreneurial experience needed to drive the agenda of GEPA.

The ruling government has an agenda of a ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ and GEPA is an integral part of this agenda in promoting Ghanaian exports.

GEPA is the National Export Trade Support Institution of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI) responsible for the facilitation, development and promotion of Ghanaian Exports. It was established by a decree, the NLCD 396 (Act 396).

The Authority is also strategically positioned to promote the governments industrialization agenda under the One-district, One factory program
