I AM A SEED – WORK IN PROGRESS!

 …I have often asked myself this question, “How do you say it when you are still in the mess?” How do you say you are an armed robber when you’re struggling to get out without getting people too suspicious? How do you say you are an occult who want to stop without getting people too careful with you? How do you get a ‘friend’ to understand that you are struggling with homosexuality or lesbianism without them getting careful with every look you take on a lady or a guy? Bottom line question, “how do you get to say it when it’s not a testimony yet?”

Dr. Stephen R. Covey in his book ‘7 habits of highly effective people’ profoundly explains the concept of listening; seeking to understand instead of hearing to respond. To listen is the intention to understand and it comes with another phenomenon, empathy. How would I have reacted if I were in that position? How would I wish to be treated if I were in that position? How would I react if I go through such experience?

That is the challenge of understanding a seed. A seed is planted; it looks like it is buried until it starts springing up and then shows its fruits. The seed time is difficult to explain to the one who does not understand the potential. Unlike a crop seed, a seed of a person’s vision and purpose in life is better understood by only the seed bearer because of its unique nature. ‘Uniqueness also breeds loneliness’, No one ever on that road.

Mentors a rare during seed time. Most mentors benchmark expectations by their standards. Friends are rare and so is family. They expect the normal. If you have had a burning desire that turns you to be a nocturnal perhaps you may go along with the seedtime principle.

There are lots of people especially in Africa who have had to ‘eat their seed up’ because it will put them on a lonely course. Most entrepreneurs and revolutionists needed to take entrench stand to maintain their seedtime burden.

Warren Buffet lost trust with his neighbor whom he seek investment capital because to him this guy who is always indoors reading news papers is not normal. Seedtime suffers trust!

Bill Gate had to defy parental threat to maintain his seed time course. Seedtime suffers rejection and threats!

The world ridiculed Wilbur and Orville Wright’s seed time flying machine. In fact it is reported that the media refused to attend the demonstration of their first airplane. They said “that’s a toy”. Seedtime suffers ridiculing!

The friends and family of Henry Ford thought he was going mad when we decided to invest all his savings in an automobile he didn’t drive but dismantled and rebuilt severally. Seedtime suffers negative branding!

I wish to encourage someone who is on this cause of revolutionizing the world with your idea. Remember the challenges of the seedtime, it is lonely, it is hurting, it will not be understood, it will be ridiculed and you will be threatened by loved ones and rejected by mentors. Let the potentials your hunches provide you offer the zeal to hold you together. When the creator sets you on a mission, remember He is not only the Alpha but but He is the Omega. You may be off the raider of many, but your fruit will bring the news the world is yet to witness.

Be resolute. The days of my seedtime are days of knowing who really are there for me, they will water me and will be glad to see the fruit I will bear and be excited for being with me during the time I was but only a seed. Who is my seedtime supporter?

Indeed, if you stay with your seedtime period, you will succeed with a testimony. The longer and lonelier you go, the greater your testimony. stay in line!

About 10 years ago I had the opportunity at a school’s gathering to speak on Genesis 12:1 “Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land I will show you…”” (NASB). How do you tell your family and loved ones you’re making a trip, and the destination is not yet fully revealed to you (..I will show you) and that you have a feeling (hunch) it will be a perfect destination?

The continuation of the text tells of how the fruit of that seedtime obedience was expected to happen. Indeed the man is referred to as the Father of our Faith in the bible (Rom. 4:16-17).

Seedtime takes faith. You are the only one who knows the life in that buried seed in you (purpose or passion); it will definitely germinate… stay with it.

Don’t leave your seedtime, and don’t shorten it. The fruit is appointed, it is at hand.
